Rose Cottage dates back to deprivation times in Ireland. In the earlier periods it has been affectionately restored to make it a humid, comfortable holiday home.

It is positioned on 22 acres of land which is farmed biologically and is for you to leisurely walk for the duration of your stay. It’s full of flora and fauna and natural world and grazed by our natural stock.

Located 6 miles from Athlone town, 8 miles from Ballymahon, 2 miles from Glassan village, 3 miles from the Three Jolly Pigeons inn which is one of Ireland’s oldest pubs.
Just a mile away is a stone structure which is said to be the centre of Ireland and also Kilkenny Abbey, now in wreck but in its time Oliver Goldsmith’s father was preacher in this church. One of Oliver Goldsmiths works is “The Deserted Village” which is said to contain writings about this district.
You will be bounded by tranquility and silence here.
Clonmacnoise is a 30 minute drive from here, a really divine christian settlement site and well worth a vacation.
Glassan village has some exquisite pubs and magnificent restaurants and a title fight golf course.
Lough Ree and the river Shannon are neighbors of this area. The local Inny River is well-known for its fishing.
